Our Mission
The Pune District SPCA actively promotes compassion for animals through elimination and prevention of cruelty to animals, humane treatment of animals and enhancing the human-animal bond through education, advocacy and services.
About Pune District SPCA
The Constitution of India lays responsibility on the state and local authorities as well as the citizens of this country to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife, and to have compassion for living creatures. In the discharge of suchconstitutional and statutory functions, the Pune District SPCA has been established under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (21 of 1860). For effective implementation of the provisions of the prevention of cruelty to animals act, 1960, the Pune District SPCA shall work in coordination with the government, the Animal Welfare Board of India and the local authorities.
